Introducing: Mast Landing Freeport
OUR SECOND BREWERY AND TASTING ROOM - OPENING SUMMER 2021 IN FREEPORT, MAINE!
The whole team at Mast Landing is excited to share news that has been a long time in the making. This summer we will be opening our second tasting room, located in Freeport at WS Development’s Freeport Crossing! While Westbrook will continue to be home base for the majority of our brewing operations and our first tasting room, our Freeport location will give friends and fans a great new option to experience our beer and hospitality. The 11,000 square foot space will be outfitted with a state of the art tasting room and pilot brewing facility, plus one of the largest private event spaces in the area on the second floor. In designing the space we focused on creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere with high top tables, comfortable lounge seating, and bar service. We can’t wait to pour you a beer and show you around!
This milestone could not have happened without amazing support from our home community in Westbrook, and fear not, we aren’t going anywhere. Our tasting room and Mainstay kitchen at 920 Main St. continue to grow and evolve, while our production facility on Saco St. houses the majority of our brewing and canning operations. The new tasting room and brewery will pour beers brewed in Westbrook, as well as small-batch and experimental recipes brewed onsite in Freeport. In addition to all you know and love about Mast Landing, we will have a food partner sharing the new space with us, ready to serve snacks and meals to build out the experience. We’re looking forward to announcing the details of that partnership and painting a more detailed picture of what your visits will entail in the coming weeks.
“Expanding to Freeport is an exciting opportunity, not only to grow the connections that we’ve been building over the past five years, but also to make our mark in the town where we first dreamt up the idea for Mast Landing,” says MLBC president Ian Dorsey, who hosted the homebrewing sessions that kickstarted the brewery in his Freeport garage years ago. Since identifying the opportunity for a second location, our journey to opening a Freeport tasting room has been collaborative with our partners at WS Development. As Ian puts it: “Whether in Westbrook, Freeport, or one of the many towns we’ve visited through this unpredictable journey, we’ve always sought out creativity and authenticity. Working with WS Development, we found a great environment in which to continue writing the Mast Landing story,”
The past year has held its fair share of challenges - we’ve been inspired by the resilience and dedication of our communities here in Maine and beyond. Mast Landing’s past, present, and future are all deeply embedded in the connections we’ve made with our loyal supporters, our partners in the industry, and our friends across the country. Announcing our upcoming Freeport location is as much a celebration of all we’ve achieved as it is a catalyst for expanding and elevating everything we strive to offer. There is much more that we hope to achieve through Mast Landing, and as we take this next step we look forward to sharing it all with you.
