Tasting Skybound^ New England IPA with Lead Brewer Matt Groff

Matt Groff joined our team earlier this year with extensive experience in recipe development, and he put his skills to work this summer developing Skybound^. This New England IPA is a showcase for New Zealand Cascade hops. What are New Zealand Cascade hops? They’re an extension of the popular Cascade varietal that is grown in the Pacific Northwest. By bringing the plant to a new climate with different soil, a different flavor profile emerges. Matt digs into what he likes about this hop and the rest of the background on Skybound^ in this video.

The label for Skybound^ is a team effort from Mast Landing’s Marketing Department. Gene Buonaccorsi, our Director of Marketing, shot the featured photo at Mirror Lake in New Hampshire during the Summer of 2020. VP of Brand Strategy Parker Olen took the image and used his design skills to finetune it into an elegant and evocative label.
