The Hoppy Harmony of Our Grateful Dead Inspired West Coast IPA Series
West Coast Style IPAs - a pillar of American beer. For all the love and support that hazy, juicy beers get, the story of our country’s love of hops begins with something clear, crisp, and ultra refreshing. At Mast Landing we love and appreciate the history of this style, from pioneers out in California like Sierra Nevada and Russian River, to our New England neighbors who iterated on the style with inspiration from the West.
As we continue to grow here in Westbrook, our capacity for creativity is on the rise. New England style IPAs are never scarce on our draft list, and now we’ve set our sights on the unmistakable citrusy goodness of the what we call the West Coast side of the spectrum. Expect to see us release a series of different recipes that speak to the classics while putting our own modern twist on the style. As the story is written in our beers, we will continue to update this post, tracking our releases and explorations.
To give these beers a connection to their coastal origins, we’ve tapped into the musical side of our interests, giving each beer a Grateful Dead inspired name. This allows us to channel inspiration from one of the country’s great musical groups, while also representing an important mainstay of the American craft beer scene. We hope you enjoy this fun synchronicity, and get to dig into the beers as they arrive.

About: A West Coast inspired rush of dayglow blades scorched by hovering halos. Chinook, Centennial, and Simcoe hops come together in a salvo of citrus, pine, and floral notes. Bright and invigorating, an IPA to fill you with feeling.

It's all a dream we dreamed. A crisp, hoppy dream. Find Me Dreaming is a West Coast inspired IPA brewed with bold hops from the Pacific Northwest. A balanced flavor profile designed to be easy drinking and enjoyable, the type of beer that might lull you into a relaxing afternoon fantasy.
LONG DISTANCE RUNNER
First Release: 3/4/2020
About: Brewed with Chico yeast, hopped with Amarillo, Centennial, Cascade, and Simcoe hops, this beer is the perfect end to a long run, a long day, or a long wait for something refreshing in your glass.
LAZY LIGHTNING
First Release: 10/16/2021
About: A loop of Lazy Lightning in the glass. This West Coast IPA continues to explore the balance of crisp refreshing hop character and bright drinkability. Chinook, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Ekuanot hops contribute notes of citrus zest, mellow floral notes, and a touch of tropical juiciness.
FIRELIGHT’S AGLOW
First Release: 2/4/2021
About: The warmth of a fire always brings clarity of mind and a pleasant calm. Firelight's Aglow is a West Coast inspired IPA that flickers along with balance and brightness. Chinook and Simcoe hops are featured in the dry hop for mellow citrus notes and a floral undertone.
